This long awaited recording expands on the trio's signature approach of beautifully crafted and textured contemporary world music compositions - melding Ria Soemardjo's exquisite Javanese influenced vocals with Helen Mountfort's lush baroque cello and Sam Evan's unique melodic tabla and percussion. Master Iranian musician, Reza Kashi brings another soulful, poignant layer to several tracks, with a virtuosic performance on tar and oud.

The music of Fine Blue Thread has been featured along side Ravi Shankar, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Nitin Sawhney in a BBC world music compilation CD, A Beginners Guide to the Music of India, as an example of a contemporary approach to the use of Indian instruments. Since their sold-out debut performance at the Melbourne International Arts Festival, Fine Blue Thread have been surprising audiences throughout Australia with performances of their own original music that is sometimes haunting, uplifting and breathtakingly intimate.
Fine Blue Thread received rave reviews for their debut album RED MOUNTAIN and as well as the follow up album BLUEPRINT. The music of Fine Blue Thread is moody, open, sweet and surprising - generating a distinctive modern Melbourne sound. Recent performance highlights include the Melbourne International Arts Festival, The Victorian Arts Centre, The Melbourne Recital Centre, The Famous Spiegeltents in Melbourne and Sydney and other festivals throughout Australia.
